We are a MilTech recruitment agency rooted in the Ukrainian defence tech reality. We place UAV, electronic warfare, robotics and secure-communications engineers with Ukrainian manufacturers, defence startups and international partners building with Ukraine. Tell us what you are building.

Why MilTech hiring is different

Ukrainian miltech runs on a development loop no other defence market has. A design change can reach the front line, collect feedback and come back for revision within a fortnight, so the sector selects hard for engineers who ship, measure and iterate rather than document and wait. Screening here means testing for that speed, not for comfort with a ten-year procurement cycle.

The scale behind it is real. Ukraine took delivery of around three million FPV drones in 2025, built about 100,000 interceptor drones in the same year, and more than 3,000 companies now work inside the Brave1 defence tech ecosystem, most of which did not exist before 2022. The bottleneck is people: mobilisation shapes who is available and where they can work, electronic warfare rewrites requirements from month to month, and engineers who have shipped under those conditions are scarce, guarded and almost never on job boards.

  • Flight Controller and Autopilot Engineer (ArduPilot, PX4, custom firmware)
  • Computer Vision Engineer for terminal guidance and target recognition
  • Electronic Warfare and RF Engineer (jamming, spoofing, spectrum sensing)
  • Jam-resistant Communications Engineer (frequency hopping, mesh, SATCOM)
  • Ground Robotics Engineer (UGV logistics, evacuation, remote weapon stations)
  • Interceptor and Air Defence Systems Engineer
  • Embedded and Firmware Engineer for contested environments
  • Situational Awareness and Battle Management Software Engineer
  • CTO, Chief Engineer and production-scaling leadership

Sub-sectors we cover

  • FPV, fixed-wing and deep-strike uncrewed systems
  • Interceptor drones and counter-UAS
  • Naval and ground robotic platforms
  • Electronic warfare, SIGINT and spectrum dominance
  • Secure and jam-resistant communications
  • Situational awareness and battle management software
  • Simulation, training and operator tooling

Ways to engage us

Ukrainian miltech mixes garage-born startups with serial manufacturers, so we run four models:

  1. Tech recruitment
  2. Staff augmentation
  3. Dedicated development teams
  4. Custom IT staffing

🧐 Not sure which model fits a wartime timeline? Outline the need and we will recommend one, with our reasoning.

How the search runs

  1. Brief. We agree the technical must-haves alongside the constraints that actually decide feasibility here: mobilisation and reservation status, location and relocation limits, and how close to deployed systems the work sits. Unworkable briefs are flagged in the first call, not after four weeks.
  2. Search. We approach engineers directly inside drone manufacturers, electronic warfare companies and adjacent embedded and RF employers. This community runs on trust and referrals, and job adverts reach almost none of it.
  3. Screen and shortlist. We screen on the layer you are hiring into: flight control, RF and electronic warfare, computer vision, robotics or production engineering. Where a candidate claims combat-tested work, we verify it rather than take it on trust.
  4. Offer and aftercare. We manage offer and start date alongside reservation paperwork and security constraints, then stay involved while the engineer settles in.

Where Ukrainian miltech talent sits

We recruit across Ukraine and the wider EU from offices in Lviv, Tallinn and London. Engineering hubs in Kyiv, Lviv and Dnipro hold teams that design, fly and revise systems against live electronic warfare every week. Investment has followed the results, growing from 5 million dollars in 2023 to 105 million dollars in 2025, and the sector recorded its first public exit when Swarmer listed on Nasdaq in March 2026.

The state has moved to keep this talent in place. Defence City, the special legal regime launched in January 2026, lets resident manufacturers reserve their employees from mobilisation, simplifies defence exports and removes sensitive company data from public registers. For hiring, that changes the conversation: reservation status is now part of the offer, and we help clients present it accurately. Salary levels and availability for the wider engineering market are covered in our Lviv and Kyiv reviews.

EchoGlobal OU is ISO 27001:2022 certified, and in this sector that is not a checkbox: programme names, client identities and candidate details stay confidential throughout a search.

MilTech recruitment: common questions

FPV and Uncrewed Systems Engineer (multirotor, fixed-wing, fibre-optic), Flight Controller and Autopilot Engineer (ArduPilot, PX4, custom firmware), Computer Vision Engineer for terminal guidance and target recognition, Electronic Warfare and RF Engineer (jamming, spoofing, spectrum sensing), Jam-resistant Communications Engineer (frequency hopping, mesh, SATCOM), Ground Robotics Engineer (UGV logistics, evacuation, remote weapon stations), and leadership hires up to CTO.

Both. Production scaling and integration pushes often run on augmentation or a dedicated team, while core design authority stays permanent. All four models are available, shaped around the mobilisation and reservation rules a given company carries.

We recruit across Ukraine and the wider EU from offices in Lviv, Tallinn and London. Engineering hubs in Kyiv, Lviv and Dnipro hold teams that design, fly and revise systems against live electronic warfare every week.

Against the specific layer you are hiring into rather than generic seniority. That means flight control and autopilot work, RF and electronic warfare, computer vision and guidance, robotics, or production engineering. Where combat-tested experience is claimed, we verify it. Each shortlisted candidate comes with written reasoning.

Yes. We run CTO, Chief Engineer and Head of Production searches for Ukrainian manufacturers and for international defence companies building teams with Ukraine.
