Company and Project Description
A New Zealand startup that has successfully completed several investment rounds over the past few years is developing a mobile travel app (Android / iOS). The app acts as a smart travel companion, seamlessly integrating itinerary management, personalised recommendations from local travel experts, and direct communication with tourism operators.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain integrations with various Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Hostaway, Guesty, MEWS, and others.
- Develop a robust and scalable integration framework using a microservices architecture to ensure reliability and security.
- Overhaul the dashboard to support new integrations.
- Write tests and set up logging and monitoring systems.
- Document technical processes and data in Notion.
- Actively participate in team meetings, provide progress updates, and discuss future dev plans.
Requirements
- Strong experience working with external APIs (REST, JSON, GraphQL, etc.) in app development.
- Domain knowledge and experience in the travel & hospitality industry.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, with a focus on Node.js and Next.js
- Experience with Firebase and modern cloud platforms.
English Level
- Advanced (C1)
Work Schedule & Timezone
- Flexible (8 hours/day), with a required overlap of at least 2 hours with New Zealand business hours.
