COMPANY AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A leading book retailer in Ireland is replacing its old PHP-based platform with a modern e-commerce solution. The new system will improve operations by integrating supplier data, optimizing product listings and enhancing order fulfillment. As a key member of this initiative, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical direction and create meaningful impact for our client and their customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and lead the technical strategy for a data-driven platform that connects vendor data, marketplace APIs, and internal e-commerce systems.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the platform meets business and technical requirements.
- Manage project planning, milestones, and resource allocation to align with business goals.
- Build and lead a remote development team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Take a hands-on role in early development, working on key components like data pipelines, real-time syncing, and pricing algorithms.
- Oversee system integration to ensure seamless operation and long-term stability.
- Continuously improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency to support high-volume, multi-channel operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in leading complex software projects from inception to delivery.
- Expertise in building and managing high-performing, distributed teams in a remote-first environment.
- Python (5+ years of experience).
- Data processing and transformation frameworks: PySpark, Pandas or similar.
- Cloud-native technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, or similar.
- Orchestration and workflow management: Temporal, Airflow, or similar.
- Data integration and transformation tools: Airbyte, EDI, or similar.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and marketplace APIs is a plus.
- Experience with PHP and Javascript is a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE AND TIMEZONE
Flexible 8hr/day Mon – Fri, Dublin Time Zone.
