Senior React Native Developer (Part-Time)

Senior React Native Developer (Part-Time)
Categories: React Native
Type: Part-time
Location: Remote
Industry: Automotive

We are looking for an experienced Senior React Native Developer to take ownership of the development and maintenance of mobile application for EV drivers.

The app has 20,000+ downloads and allows users to find charging stations, check pricing and charging speeds, start and pay for charging across different networks, and participate in a membership and rewards programme.

This is a long-term, part-time engagement.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, maintain and improve React Native mobile application.
  • Investigate, identify and resolve bugs and production issues.
  • Analyse problems to determine their root causes rather than simply applying temporary fixes.
  • Build and release new versions of the application.
  • Test releases thoroughly before publication.
  • Work on new product features based on customer behaviour and feedback.
  • Work with existing backend services and APIs together with our CTO.
  • Take ownership of mobile development and work independently with limited supervision.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong, senior-level commercial experience with React Native.
  • Experience working on production mobile applications with a significant user base, ideally 20,000+ downloads or comparable scale.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand an existing codebase.
  • Experience identifying root causes of technical issues.
  • Experience building and publishing production applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical tasks.
  • Good English communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with EV charging, mobility, fintech, payments or similar consumer applications.
  • Experience with loyalty, membership, gamification or rewards functionality.
  • Experience with Expo, if applicable to the existing codebase.

Team and Workflow

You will work primarily with the CEO who is responsible for product and project management, who defines product priorities and tasks.

CTO is responsible for the technical integration between the backend and the mobile application and will support you with technical requirements when needed.

Most communication and task management happens asynchronously through Slack and Jira. Typically, there will be no more than one regular meeting per week, although additional meetings may be required during onboarding.

Working Arrangement

  • Part-time engagement.
  • Preferred schedule: 4 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • The schedule can be flexible for the right candidate.
  • Alternative arrangements, such as full working days several times per week, can also be considered.
  • Remote position.

Interview Process

  1. HR interview with EchoGlobal
  2. Interview with the CEO and CTO of the project.
  3. Practical technical task: you will be asked to pull the codebase, fix a specific bug of your choosing, and prepare it for deployment to demonstrate your speed and familiarity with React Native. (An NDA will be signed prior to this step).
  4. Final decision.
